This evening on West Java a married couple, Taufik H. and Novi, died at the scene from severe injuries while their young child, who was riding with them on the motorcycle, a Honda PCX, survived the crash.

Both the motorcycle and a large box truck were traveling in the same direction, moving towards Jakarta and when they reached the flyover incline, the truck driver, identified as J, allegedly failed to notice the motorcycle traveling directly ahead of or beside his vehicle due to a blind spot.

The truck struck the motorcycle, causing the parents to fall under the heavy vehicle where they were fatally run over.

Eyewitness accounts and initial reports indicate that moments before the impact, the mother managed to throw her child away from the path of the truck, saving the child's life.

The truck driver and his assistant were detained for questioning.
