Retired Policeman Shot Dead Whilst Attempting to Resist Robbery
A retired military police officer, 69-year-old Corporal José H.R., was shot dead while reacting to a robbery in Fortaleza, Ceará state, Brazil, on Tuesday afternoon (21). He was sitting on the sidewalk of an establishment when he was approached by an armed man. José tried to push the suspect, but an accomplice of the criminal appeared on a motorbike, and the pair tried to take the agent's belongings. One of the suspects ended up shooting José in the leg. José, who had joined the police force in 1975, was taken to hospital, but died from his injuries a few hours later. |
