Re: Reporter, Cameraman Shot Dead on Live TV in Virginia

I'm not missing any point. Of course there will be other killings using various weapons and objects but the point is a screwdriver and a car as you mentioned have a specific purpose. Much like a gun does, the difference being a gun's purpose is for killing!

Take all the gun massacres you get for example and you're telling me the same kind of destruction would be caused by someone running in there with a screwdriver or knife? guns also give people a certain sense of power that other weapons simply don't. The right to bear arms is ridiculous plain and simple but it's that ingrained into American culture that you can't see past it. No one here in the UK feels the need to carry a gun or even have one in their home so why should you lot feel the need?
A gun's purpose is for killing? Yet another liberal talking point. Over 300 million legal firearms in America, and most of them have never killed anybody. In fact, it is pretty safe to say (based on the aforementioned statistics) that more lives have been saved by the presence of a firearm than have been taken unjustly by a firearm.

On to your next liberal talking point. Did you hear about what happened in China the same day as the Newtown school shooting? According to the report, "BEIJING -- A knife-wielding man slashed 22 children and an adult at an elementary school in central China on Friday, state media reported, the latest in a series of attacks on children in the country." The report goes on to say "There was a particular string of knife attacks against schoolchildren across the country in early 2010 that killed nearly 20 and wounded more than 50.
"In one incident that year, a man slashed 28 children, two teachers and a security guard in a kindergarten in eastern China." So you see, someone bent on causing harm on a grand scale will do so, and often just as effectively, with whatever weapon they so choose.

You say the right to keep and bear arms is ridiculous, but that right exists because the founding fathers had just sent your bloody redcoats running back across the pond, and didn't want to see the same kind of tyranny in their own newly-founded government. You may be fine with being a subject, but I'll stick with being a citizen.

Can we sticky this in a new category called "american deaths"? I kinda get tired of all the dead girls in countries where they dont give a shit about life. I want to see some closer to home.

Re: Reporter, Cameraman Shot Dead on Live TV in Virginia

I don't know if that was a glock, but its lack of stopping power was rather eye-opening.
Glock is really pretty irrelevant to stopping power, it's the bullet that determines that...

Based on the shots fired, most likely a 9mm unless he reloaded (doubtful).

Also, from the blocky "heavy" look of the gun, I would say it's more likely a cheaper weapon. Hi-point, maybe?

Re: Reporter, Cameraman Shot Dead on Live TV in Virginia

I guess it's time for the "we need more guns" people to emerge and suggest everyone from infants to Dementia patients to be armed.
And time for the "no more gunz puhleaze" morons to venture forth with their gun regulations, as if this guy would've thought "ya know what, was gonna kill these fuckin racist crackers, but guns are illegal so never mind"
