Don't. Even if it would go over well, there's an equal chance that it wouldn't. Let the family grieve in peace and privacy.

If you really feel the need to reach out, there are memorial pages for this kid on FB, linked elsewhere in this thread. Better to voice your condolences through a channel like that, and *ask* if it would be okay with the family if you did more.

Not to mention, would you really want random unexpected reminders from strangers of when your son/sibling blew their own head off with a shotgun? Even the kindest gestures can be catastrophically-timed.
I guess you're right. "I saw the video and..." The poor woman must be extra mortified.
