Wow. Poor kid. So many youth are committing suicide. This world is such a terrible place. That's definitely real. That girl on the chat was so annoying to listen to. She will have PTSD from watching this. She should've just stopped watching it.

Agreed. I started dating a guy whose brother had died by suicide as a teen. The dad found what this kids mother found. The aftermath of what it does to the family is devastating. They were never the same after. His dad would scream in his sleep all the time from PTSD of seeing his sons brains all over the room. Sad world we live in. Every system in this society needs to change. The mental health system is so flawed. We need healing.

I suffer from both.
I have c.o.p.d., emphysema, and a muscular form of rheumatoid arthritis that causes the major muscle groups in my body to have charlie horse-like cramps on a constant basis.

What I can't deal with is the psychological pain of lonliness.
I am bedridden most of the time
with only my son to take care of me, (and trust me, I see how it effects him), but my so-called "insurance" will not cover any kind of help based on the fact that I am still able to dress and feed myself (yes, that is the main criteria for deciding if you qualify for any kind of in home help, believe it or not).
But again, I can deal with that.
What I can't deal with are the endless days and nights laying alone staring at the walls with no one to talk to, laugh with or anything.
It has been over 10 years since I've had a hand to hold or even felt a hug from anyone other than my son.
And because of being bedridden, I don't know even 1 person in my area. No one to call and chat with just to say "hi", no one to laugh with, share funny shit with...anything.
The physical pain ain't shit-I can deal with it...the mental pain is overwhelming and, undoubtedly, will be the true cause of my death.
And all "mental health" wants to do is to keep shoving antidepressants down my throat.
We know absolutely nothing about this boy, his relationship with his mother, or what he was going through-NOTHING.
All we see is an hour long clip of his face. How can you base anything on that?
When you reach the point of eating a shotgun sandwich, you really don't care WHO finds your body or what shape the room will be in. All you think about is trying to make the psychological & emotional pain stop.
For some of us, life is way too long...
Please, my friends, try to be a little more understanding of those of us for whom it isn't a life, but instead a life sentence.

man poor guy. i'm so thankful i had an irrational fear of guns until after i had got on antidepressants. otherwise i certainly would've shot myself as a teen. the sad thing is that men often kill themselves with guns whereas women usually try to overdose. an overdose is sooo much slower and reversible. nothing reverses a bullet, and even if they fail the medical repercussions are much harsher than with an OD (typically). anyway! this is really depressing, i'm glad i'm in a better mental place now than when i was a kid. i used to find shit this online and feel nothing but jealousy. now i feel for the mom more than anything.

If you really feel the need to reach out, there are memorial pages for this kid on FB, linked elsewhere in this thread. Better to voice your condolences through a channel like that, and *ask* if it would be okay with the family if you did more.

Not to mention, would you really want random unexpected reminders from strangers of when your son/sibling blew their own head off with a shotgun? Even the kindest gestures can be catastrophically-timed.
