Handguns fired in a confined space with four walls and a roof are ( in my experience and I've fired hundreds of rounds of various caliber in these close spaces ) are all very well defined (loud as fuck). Save a silencer and they are illegal in most places .

Might wanna go ahead and use your blue name privvies to 86 that pic before you catch a point from the mods. *I'm* not gonna drop any dimes on you, but someone else might. ianmd3000, revolvers don't have a closed breech like semi-automatic pistols do. The space between the chamber and the bore of the barrel isn't sealed or overlapping, so most of the noise from the shot is actually heard as it escapes out the cylinder and not the muzzle. The only way a body or orifice would have any effect on the report is if the revolver were covered/inserted all the way up to the rear of the frame, which would encompass the cylinder completely. But even then, the person's mouth and lips would be no barrier to the expanding gases of a .357 round, especially given the near-simultaneous loss of motor control that would accompany the shot. |

Someone had commented about the sound when she hit the desk, chair and floor being too loud as she wouldn't have had a clip on microphone. However, when I went to the old Christine Chubbock site that was referenced here...there was a picture of her wearing black with gold chains or gold necklaces with what looks like a clip on. So...perhaps they didn't only have the boom to work with. I wish I were more internet savvy so I could provide a link to the picture or even copy the image, but alas... |

Found this regarding the video in comments B. Hammer Any video would be in color. The show was recorded on quad tape (2" reel to reel) and there was no time date stamp at the top. Perhaps this was added in the dub, but I don't believe it is authentic. I replaced Christine Chubbick at WXLT and was in a position to know. Also, as soon as she pulled the gun out the video was dumped. Audio of the shot remained on the tape, because in all the craziness the director forgot to cut the audio. |
