I was thinking that it was perhaps a copy of a copy. You are right, though. Even in 1974 the technology was there. What about the film being damaged by time and perhaps not being stored properly. Would that make the footage crappy?

The police said they don't possess the video. They viewed it and was given back to the manager of the news group. He kept it and bequeathed to his wife. She gave it to a legal firm and they supposedly possess it.

The damage on the film is ( seemingly) suspiciously choreographed for the controversy all payed out in this thread . This is without mentioning the cap gun sound that 357 mag.(or whatever pistol caliber) made ..  Should sell a lots of box office tickets come movie time ? Or at least have decent tv ratings . |

Looks the real deal to me... who would fake this... the tape is old and may have been stopped at the same moment over and over over the years or when the police had it...

Scroll back to page 2 of this thread and you'll find a fake right there. As has been said numerous times, this is "the holy grail of gore", a much talked about video most people who follow this type of stuff know about and have been trying to find for decades. Why would someone not fake it? There are people out there who create fake gore videos all the time that don't come near the type of urban lore that this suicide has spun up. And of course because this video is such a legend there are going to be people who will argue that this is real no matter the lack of proof to back that up simply because they want to be able to tell people they saw this legendary video. The ludicrous amount of film grain and track skipping used to make this video seem old actually goes against it, imo. Afterall this suicide took place in front of professional news cameras, not some shaky 16mm used in modern day "found film" horror movies. |
