if there is one of hundreds who's actually innocent, how sad would it be being beaten up so bad.
and what an epic power women do have in such countries: you dont like that guy? say he raped you, and there you go.

The cops here are just a bunch of fucking animals. Who knows what this guy actually did, besides, it's alleged. It would be nice if anyone on this site championed due process, or anything actually American in philosophy.
Thank you Freem851. Some viewers on this site don't have the balls (internal or external) to act on anything themselves so they wait to watch someone else do it, right or wrong, to feel better. Due process first!

Re: Rapist Is Beaten Mercilessly In Police Custody

The story below deals with a man who was accused of raping a woman. I was working as a correctional officer at time of his incarceration. I escorted this man to court for his trial and back to his cell when it was over. The man, Armand Villasana, was innocent, yet found guilty. It was later discovered the victim, had made the entire story up (if I remember correctly, she fabricated the whole story to cover up a love affair) Mr. Villasana just happened to be the unlucky person she picked out of a line up. The prosecutors office knew there was dna evidence that proved he could not have been the rapist yet prosecuted anyway relying mostly on the victims testimony. The prosecutor also failed to tell the accused that there was any dna evidence. He had a public defender. When I escorted him back to his cell after the verdict had been read, he was sobbing and asked me "How could this have happened? I swear I didn't do it. I've never seen that woman before in my life." Villasana was a quiet, very mild mannered man, very courteous. I felt, after being around this man 5 days a week for the 21 months he was in jail before his trial, that he was innocent. Of course, this was just a gut feeling. I told him, "Look dude, I believe you. It doesn't matter what I believe. They are going to put you in prison for the rest of your life. You better start writing some letters to any motherfucker who will listen or you are fucked. You write the news media, the governor, anybody who will listen and tell them you are innocent and you have just been convicted." With help from his girlfriends family, he was able to get a good lawyer to represent him.

To all who comment about the video as "Justice served", "He got what he deserved" etc, I have this to say. JUST BECAUSE A PERSON IS ACCUSED OF A CRIME, DOESN'T MEAN THEY COMMITED THE CRIME. EVEN IF A PERSON IS CONVICTED OF A CRIME, DOESN'T NECESSARILY MEAN THEY COMMITED THE CRIME.

To all the people who think this shit doesn't happen in America, IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. IVE SEEN SHIT LIKE THIS HAPPEN AND ITS FUCKING WRONG!!!

Convicted Man Freed by DNA Tests

June 22, 2000

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) - On the day Armand Villasana faced a possible 40-year sentence for rape, he walked away a free man after coming up with DNA evidence that cast doubt on his guilt.

Back in November, a jury took only two hours to convict the 46-year-old Villasana of raping and kidnapping a woman in 1998.

But at his sentencing Wednesday, Villasana's new attorney was allowed to present DNA evidence he said proves authorities got the wrong man.

Jamie Harman, a scientist from St. Louis, testified that she analyzed three pieces of evidence and found DNA not consistent with Villasana's.

Prosecutor Jill Geary then dropped the case but said Villasana has not been cleared.

The state ``must conclude that the three pieces of DNA evidence, when taken together, make it impossible for the state to prove its case against Armand Villasana beyond a reasonable doubt,'' Geary said in a statement.

In front of the courthouse, an ecstatic Villasana was surrounded by family and friends, who took turns hugging and kissing him.

``All I know is, I didn't do it,'' he said. ``The DNA says I didn't do it.''

He spent 21 months behind bars.

Villasana became a suspect in the 1998 crime after a sheriff's deputy thought he resembled a sketch of the suspect.

At the trial, Villasana's roommate said that he bragged about having sex on the night of the rape. Witnesses also said Villasana owned a T-shirt like the one the victim said her attacker wore.

``It's the power of scientific evidence,'' said Villasana's new lawyer, Shawn Askinosie. ``It's so powerful we need to make sure we ask for it.''
Excellent post. What you see isn't always what you get...beware...
