Re: Police Shooting of Philando Castile

Never seen anyone that was so "cool" in telling and filming things after such a stressful event. Even their kid was in the car.

It's really better not to reach for your pocket while telling or just told you have a gun even if you tell you're gonna pull out your ID.

Cop seems to be damn nervous too.
the cop told him after being advised he was licensed to csrry, to grab his license, and he popped him

Re: Police Shooting of Philando Castile

Despite being polite to the cop, the cop wrote him a ticket for not having a plate. Normally, on a newer car a cop would not write any ticket, and if they did, it would be a fix-it ticket. The cop went out of his way to write the ticket as a non-correctable ticket that requires a court appearance. That is BS because that was the first time he was pulled over for not having a plate, and the applicable law is that on the first offense it is a fix it ticket where you only have to show proof at a police station that you installed the plates.
Okay, so how can one thing be "normally" as in, judgment, and then other be a legal process that requires a fix-it ticket? You are contradicting yourself.

I got a ticket for no front plates when I moved from Georgia to Colorado with husband being restationed as I was waiting on my front plate holder to get there since my car didn't even HAVE one so the plate was in the dashboard.

He asked for my license and said he was just going to run my name. He comes back with a $15 ticket for no plates. That's my one and only ticket. It happens, some cops are just on a power trip but technically, they aren't wrong. I didn't have my plate on. Did it suck? Yes.

Re: Police Shooting of Philando Castile

The stunning thing to me in all these types of videos. The police NEVER try to give any aid. The suspects are clearly incapacitated, yet the gun is still drawn as if at any moment, like a zombie apocalypse the suspect will jump up and start firing.
Because that exact scenario has happened, a lot. Cops and victims have been killed in what seems like heroic measures. Depending on where they got hit, how many times, etc. there are vids out there of people shot 5 or 6 times stabbing victims or getting a gun and start shooting, especially if they are on drugs.

Re: Police Shooting of Philando Castile

Was he a midget? Why are his legs only two feet long while the rest of his body looks to be of normal proportion?

Too bad she didn't start filming when the cop approached the window. Wait a minute, that's the passenger window. Do they drive on the left side of the road in Minnesota?
iPhones don't flip to the mirror image of a capture like the rest of the modern world tech has caught up to. You have to actually manually flip photos and videos to display the correct way.

This is just wrong on so many levels, there will be no winners here, just broken lives and memories of what should have been. When I was younger my friends and I would go down to the gravel pits and shoot at cans, the police would show up and then shoot with us, even helped us pick up the cans and clean up after, What the hell has happened to our country.

Re: Police Shooting of Philando Castile

I don't think anyone can really judge her by what she looks or sounds like on the video. We don't know this person but we know for sure her boyfriend is dying next to her. It's complicated understanding human reactions to shocking crazy scenarios such as these and everyone reacts differently. I've been robbed at gun point (actually happened last friday) and it didn't really affect me physically at all I gave the guy the money told him "that's so fucking messed up you asshole" calmly and if I had thought about it and wasn't scared of losing my phone i'd easily post around lol and he had his gun pointed straight to my ribs
I, personally, think this woman is pretty brave to stand up and choke up any emotions and show the reality of what happened right there. Maybe yes her story is all messed up in her mind and she could be deemed an unreliable witness because of trauma but if that doesn't prove the total instability of the cop. I agree that it seems to me the cop reacted to "i have a gun" in the worst possible way and to make it worse he did it with a black couple and a woman that had it in her to show the world what was happening. I'm surprised they didnt snatch the phone right off of her

Re: Police Shooting of Philando Castile

The video of the media storm interviewing Lavish Reynolds outside of the governor's mansion. This storyline comes in between the two she gave in the in her initial video.

It sounds like a tragic, tragic mistake (both sides, majority cop) if we go straight to her story. They had their hands raised, he goes for his ID and as he's reaching, he says he has a gun and reaches for his pocket. The classes I've been to, say to have your hands up, and not move when you inform of your weapon in your car/on you and let the cop remove it from your possession.

But her invoking all the other people who screwed up, etc. is going to hurt her. Her having prompts behind her to steer her aren't helping either.

They also didn't "take her Facebook". Initially, her video was live and people reported the video (probably initially for gore/violence) and it was taken down for review. It was put back up within the hour and that was all on Facebook's decision. Her running conspiracy theories about the police "confiscating her Facebook" isn't going to help her either.

Side thought: Her talking about not getting her last words to her man, when she was with him while he was dying and ignored him to broadcast on Facebook and didn't say a thing to him is bizarre.

Interesting this is the US yet the "driver" is sitting in the passenger seat. Why is the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car

Re: Police Shooting of Philando Castile

The cop seems to be literally crying yet she is as cool as a bag of ice, I couldn't just sit there whilst my girlfriend died right beside me I don't care what that cop ordered me to do.
That is becaus she is ACTING. There is more to this story. There always is. The truth will come out in the coming days and weeks.
