Re: Police Shooting of Philando Castile
Kind of annoying that she assumed the officer is Chinese without finding the information first. I'm Asian and I hate when people assume I'm Chinese. I have nothing against them, but after being called Chinese 5,000 times and countless "ching chong"s, I can't stand it. And the guy does not look Asian at all! That actually makes it less annoying and more amusing. |

Re: Police Shooting of Philando Castile
I think that a lot of cops are instilled with fear over things being said around their station, other cops, news, etc. About how someone on the force that everyone loved was killed by a criminal and if he had just shot the killer first, he'd still be there. They probably see videos like the one of Quincy Smith in SC and when an officer is in a situation like the one with Castile, as soon as he sees someone reaching under their waist or holding something dark in their hands, they automatically think it's happening to them and do what those other guys didn't do. I've seen situations where an officer kills an innocent man in cold blood for absolutely no reason other than to execute them, but most of the time it's like this. Though I don't think the officer woke up that day and said "I hope I get to shoot a black guy today", he should be treated like the rest of the nation in court. If someone else had done the same thing, they'd be in jail regardless of any lack of intention. |

Re: Police Shooting of Philando Castile
The cop asked him not to reach for the gun and within literally 1 millionth of a second later he opened fire, I counted 5 shots. If he was so worried about his own safety all he had to do was step back and reevaluate but instead he killed a totally innocent man. You cannot blame the victim, the police officer is the one who is supposed to be the trained professional, not the other way around. If the guy who was shot had wanted to harm the police officer I am quite sure he would not have mentioned that he had a gun. It is not even the cop's fault, he was obviously under trained.
