"so the public can get some trust back"? How about you don't threaten people with knives (which are lethal weapons, btw), if you don't want to get shot?

Think about it: would YOU pull a knife on a person that you know has a gun, and not expect to get shot? And as for "disarming" people, that's movie shit, in real life when you try that, you get stabbed.
