Re: Police Officer Kills Suicidal Man For Refusing To Drop Knives
I think the officer feared for his life. It would get my heart going seeing a loony like that with a knife slowly approaching me with some evil look on his face... I just didn't expect 5 shots lol! The first two incapacitated him lol jeez.. Dog eat dog. At the end of the day..if you think you're gonna be dead..it comes down to basic instinct..kill or be killed |

Re: Police Officer Kills Suicidal Man For Refusing To Drop Knives
Trigger happy fucker, that my friend is called getting away with murder. Cop could have backed out the door or stun gunned him. And to those people saying this is simple police procedure, I say bullshit. No two situations will ever be the same and if shooting people who might be a threat is an ok then I guess shooting the police if they drive past my house must be ok. If he had been pointing a gun that would be a different story. But slowly walking forward with a knife??? Maybe it was different being there, but from the camera perspective, just doesn't look like lethal force was the best option.

Re: Police Officer Kills Suicidal Man For Refusing To Drop Knives
And what happens when he retreats right into the guy's girlfriend, who sees the cop pointing the gun at her boyfriend and decides to attack him from behind? What then? And tasers only do so much. Some people can take multiple shots from a taser and not be affected in the least. The odds of something like that happening increase when there's alcohol involved. All the cop-haters here can talk all the shit they want, but the overwhelming majority of cops don't just go around shooting people out of convenience. The bottom line is that when anyone is pointing a gun at you -- be they law enforcement or otherwise -- you do not advance on them in a threatening manner unless you plan on catching lead. Either this guy was going for suicide by cop, or he thought the cop was bluffing; but either way, be brought it on himself by conducting himself in a threatening and non-compliant manner. Those who play stupid games win stupid prizes. |

Re: Police Officer Kills Suicidal Man For Refusing To Drop Knives
You shoot for what is called "center of seen mass". ie the upper torso that houses the vital organs, lungs, heart etc. Fastest way to stop/drop an assailant is shock the main organs. Never aim for arms or legs. A crazy drunk or drug affected guy will have little or no effect on them and you will get stabbed from that range. Head shots are never an option for 2 reasons. One it is considered a "kill shot" & secondly head is a small moving target. Police are not about killing but shoot to "stop the threat".... hence aim is always for upper torso. Generally trained to double tap (2 shots) and assess if threat still present. This guy was a little over zealous capping off 5 rounds. |
