This police officer was killed as he was trying to defuse a bomb that was left on the side of the road. Even in his bomb suit, he suffered injuries that killed him.
Damned homicidal house plants.

I would have preferred to lug it into a sandbagged pit with another timed explosive and detonated them together. with a bomb that little, i see no sense in trying to diffuse when detonating it would have been safer and better for all concerned. Maybe they're planning on recycling the thing for future use themselves.

i dont think the bomb suit of that kind is any help at that range. even if it succeeded in preventing wounds and fragments, every bone inside the suit would have been jellied.
