Ok sure your police training makes you disregard his crying, pleading and being obviously scared. It might be a ploy to distract you. Sure he's reaching for his gun to shoot 8 cops with rifles and pistols pointed at him. Sure might be others in the room armed. You got him covered. Why not move up and secure the room and him? Just seems like the police prolonged the situation making it worse.

Was the cop trigger-happy? Sure was. Frankly, a cop should be trained to shoot ONLY when it is ascertained without doubt that the person in question has an object in their hand; the shots in this video cam after the hand was already coming back down from his back, empty.

But drunk boy fucked up big-time when he reached behind himself after being told, explicitly, what to do, and what would get him shot - doing ANYTHING other than crawling as instructed.

When you have a high-powered weapon pointed at you by a cop, you don't argue, you don't plead, you keep your fucking mouth shut, and you follow everything to the letter - anything less, and a jury will find a cop not-guilty. I feel sorry for the guy's family, a bit less so for dumb-ass guy who decided to get drunk and flash around a weapon. Going to get shit-faced? Leave your guns at home. Going to carry your weapon? Stay sober, and don't be a fuckwit.
