The dead boy was identified by the police as teenager C. E. R. B. According to the corporation, he had criminal passages and would have had a gun before the moment he appears in the video.

After being injured, he was taken to Hospital Menino Jesus, in the same city where the incident took place, but he arrived dead. At the end of the morning, the body was sent to the Legal Medical Service (SML) in Linhares, the closest in the region.

The five PMS involved in the criminal action, Leonardo Jordão da Silva, Samuel Barbosa da Silva Souza, Thafny da Silva Fernandes, Tallisson Santos Teixeira and Wanderson Gonçalves Coutinho, were arrested on the same day. The Military Police reported that the five police officers are still being held at the Military Prison, in Vitória. The Military Police Inquiry (IPM) has already been completed within the legal period and has been forwarded to the Military Public Ministry.

According to the police version, they investigated a traffic complaint and chased the teenager. After being surrendered, the police killed him, dragged the body to another location and even defrauded the police report to omit the homicide. The case was only discovered when security camera footage was found.
