I hate it when people use other people to get themselves killed. I've thought about doing it that way myself, but have always not followed through because I don't want to ruin someone else's life, while ending mine. It needs to be done by me, or not at all. I can't bring myself to make someone else live with killing me.

Way to miss the point.  There were a myriad of different ways he could have done this without traumatizing innocent people out and about, living their lives. But this guy had to be a drama queen. No big loss, just a huge embarrassment, and a bunch apologies for what he's done to others. |

I guess they're thinking about the speed, effectiveness, certainty of death, lack of pain, etc? They aren't thinking about anyone but them self. It's a selfish act, carried out when all rational thought is gone. If they were rational enough to think about the impact on others, they likely would be rational enough to think twice and get help instead. |
