Plane Crashes in Rural Area of Brazil; Seven Dead
Note: there is a child victim, but I do not think his body can be seen in any of the photos/video below.

A small plane crashed this Sunday morning (28) in a rural area of ​​Itapeva, Minas Gerais state. According to the Fire Department, seven people died. The aircraft left Campinas (São Paulo) bound for Belo Horizonte (Minas Gerais).

The plane crashed around 10:36 am, but, before the crash, the aircraft disintegrated in the air, according to the Fire Department.

According to the Civil Police, there were five passengers on the plane - two men, two wome, and a male child - and a pilot and co-pilot. All of their bodies were found under the plane.

According to data from the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), the PS-MTG registration aircraft was manufactured in 1996 by Piper Aircraft, and was registered as a private air service aircraft. She was in normal airworthiness status. The plane was owned by a financial credit company based in Belo Horizonte.

So far there is no precise information about the circumstances of the accident, but it was raining heavily in Itapeva that morning.

Local FM radio DJ crank called a lawyers office and pretended to have a heavy hispanic accent. He was saying he just wanted to see his kid and he was calling from his estranged wife's front lawn and needed to talk with a lawyer ("wife" was yelling in background). The receptionist was telling him no lawyers were available, then he played the Buddy Holly / Ritchie Valens original plane crash announcement in the background and started yelling 'Ritchie!".

Guess you had to have heard it...
