Brazil, Seven men suspected to have taken part in the death of a military police officer (25) were arrested on Monday (31).

The plainclothed officer was shot dead and stoned on Sunday evening (30). Another police officer, who was with him, was shot in the arm and admitted to the Hospital but has been released later on.

Three people were also detained in the early hours of the morning and the other throughout the day. Police said that in the house of one of them police found a pair of dirty sneakers covered in blood and a checkbook in the name of vicyim. The victim's cell phone was also recovered with one of the suspects.

One hypothesis of the motivation of the two officers to go to that neighborhood is that they had scheduled a meeting with two men and then have fallen into an ambush.

A funk dance was held near the scene of the crime, but there is no confirmation that the two have gone to the site to go to this party.

A neighborhood resident, who declined to be identified, said he saw through the window several men running after the victim.

"I did not see the face of anyone, but I saw that they threw stones and other things at him. It was a large group, about eight or ten men.

I was very scared. Then I heard shots. It was a very violent scene, a real savagery.
