Ahhh… If that’s where that cop was shot, it’s definitely what happened. There’s no other way. I couldn’t see where on his leg the cop was shot. Knowing that, it’s much easier to deduce what actually happened. |

Damn. Years of this site and self defense videos on mainstream platforms, really drive home the idea that you gtfo if cops roll up to a scene and start trying to detain someone. Add to that the small space they were in and multiple people, who could've been, let's say, unfriendly (clear the area), and this was a nightmare scenario for two apparently new officers. |

Re: Philly Cop Fatally Shoots Guy Inside Gaming Machines Business
While more common now, body cameras aren't necessarily standard issue at every PD, even major ones. I do wish they were, though. Criticisms of LEOs notwithstanding, don't forget about 2020 and how that undid a bit of funding for a lot of them nationwide and how many are still having hiring crises. Seattle PD and the WSP are still dealing with such, although the latter was on a decline before the Summer of Love, but all the worse now. Same goes for the likes of beanbag shotguns (great pain compliance tools that offer more capacity and distance than TASERs), TASERs (saw them here but these were more common before body cams), and the like. Hell, on body medical kits should be standard issue (running to your vehicle to get medical delays first aid for everyone who needs it rather than having it on-body) but they aren't. The dedicated light the first officer had to make contact made me think they're underfunded and cops often have to buy their own gear to enhance what's issued to them (e.g. optics aren't standard issue for most departments and you rarely see them in OIS videos involving pistols). A decent handheld light can both illuminate a person's torso (shine it on their chest )and disorient them (splashes into their face) which gives an advantage to the defender (private citizen context). TLDR not all gear is standard issue across departments for many reasons. |

How dare you use logic!! But in all seriousness, the guy got what he asked for. Resisting and then reaching for a weapon in his jacket. I love the "I can't breathe" shit before they even got him on the ground. |
