Re: People Jump Out of Building on Fire
I just stumbled across a video that they appear to be from recreating the disaster (the black and white pic of the women huddled together and of the people actually inside an office in the building). If you search YouTube for "ESPIRITOS DO INCENDIO DO EDIFICIO JOELMA ESPIRITA", you'll find five parts of a video in Portuguese about the "ghosts" of the building. Those shots are part of their recreation. The other shots are real. More raw footage of the actual fire can be found on YouTube by searching under Joelma.

Re: People Jump Out of Building on Fire
I know Brazil is a very poor country, as are many in Latin America. But why do they have to be so.....well, just so SHIT at things like fire regs, rescue operations etc. Every time there's a fucking earth tremor some massive high rise crushes another load of them to death. Sorry if I sound massively callous here, but, really, isn't it time they just got a fucking GRIP on stuff?

Re: People Jump Out of Building on Fire
And guess what........Unlike three buildings on 9/11 2001 this building didn't collapse. Even though this building in Brazil burned for several hours longer with a lot mor heat than the three buildings in New York 2001. Isn't that strange??? |

Re: People Jump Out of Building on Fire
i was thinking the same thing, only thing i was thinking is that the towers were hit by aircraft, which also weakened the structure.there have been alot of multi story high rise structure fires over the years and im not sure of how many..but i dont recall any collapsing.got to remember also..no two fires are the same.i liked the mix of north american style engines and european style. |
