Pedestrian in Crosswalk Hit by a Car, run over by the wheels of a bus
Yesterday morning an accident occurred in the Republic of Karelia, Russia (next to Finland) when a car hits a man walking a crosswalk which throws him into the path of the wheels of a passing bus. He died on the spot.  |

That’ll do it. It’s always disturbing to see that moment of clarity when I person realizes they’ve really fucked up but they can’t do anything about it at that point.

Do you mean the pedestrian, or the guy who hit him first? The way it looked to me was that the pedestrian saw the car coming and was about to book it across the rest of the street, but the car started swerving in the direction he was going and he didn't know what to do because he couldn't just double-back and run in front of the bus. So he took his chances on where he was, but the driver couldn't avoid him at that point. Ultimately the driver's fault. For him to hit that guy at that speed, he either hadn't been paying enough attention to see him early enough, or he saw him and figured he could just zip past him before the guy got in his way. |

You can see the devastation in the driver's body language as well as the hopelessness of the situation. And he had to live with that for the rest of his life, can't imagine the anguish.
