Re: Our Lolo After 15 Years Dead

I am always fascinated by the concept of digging up graves and seeing what the body looks like after a period of time.

I'm guessing those are steel-toed flip flops. Safety first!

Re: Our Lolo After 15 Years Dead

The language they are speaking is Tagalog. Lolo in the Filipino language means elder men - Grand papa. The filipino are rather passionate as a People and the culture has strong roots embued with metaphor and emotion for loved ones. There is a tremendous magical atmosphere in the Philippines not so easily read on paper. You have to be there to feel it. As an atheist, I still respect the heavy rich culture and wish more people found interest in the subtleties of culture and Religion. More knowledge can be addicting.
Most of us will care for our old in our homes until death. we dont dump them in a home in pretense that we dont have time because we are busy at work or that they would get better care there. We care for them, we make the time and effort and try to shoulder the cost until they expire.

Them South Americans sure are hip to those glass covered caskets
it is Philippines. Yes. our standard coffins are usually half-glass half wood covers. but it is usually airtight and always covered. no open casket funeral wake that i heard of. unless situation requires sealed and closed casket.
