One Killed when Bus Hits Concrete Bus Stop Shelter
Brazil, One person died and two others were injured when the concrete shelter of a bus stop collapsed after being hit by a bus. The accident happened in the early Friday morning around 6 am. When the bus driver steered the bus towards the sidewalk he made contact with what looks like a puddle of water so during breaking the bus kept moving more forwards as supposed to. According to witnesses, the people who were waiting for a bus to go to their workplaces suffered serious injuries such as fractures and crushing limbs. One of them ended up dying at the crash site. (red shirt) =============================== Oil on the track. Still according to reports of people who passed by the scene at the time of the accident, there was oil spilled on the road and probably the tires of the bus lost the adhesion with the asphalt. The driver lost control of the direction and the collective moved towards the sidewalk, knocking the shelter and hit the people there. |

Are things really that fucked up in brazil, or is this a typo? Cuz 6PM is about 10-12 hours too late to be considered early morning in most of the civilized world. Seems strange how that bus stop was made of such heavy materials but it went down like it was flimsy. Maybe quality materials but poor craftsmanship? It looks like it should've been sturdy enough to not fall on and crush people if accidentally hit by a car or bus, but I guess not |

True. But wouldn’t have happened if the town/city didn’t approve of this design and materials. The slab also looks like it’s over hanging into the road. And concrete slab being held up by...flimsy flam sticks.  |
