A professional, legal enforcer should have the ability to make anyone submit within a few seconds, if they do not comply to a lawful order.

The mouthy, orally generous porker had plenty of time to use a Taser on the subject, pepper spray him directly in the face copiously, or hit them in the head with his gun or flashlight to pass him out—to enforce submission.

But the cop's mouth got the best of his ass.

For people who are supposed to be professionally trained and more than accustomed to being in the line of fire, many cops act around guns like women who see a squiggly tiny mouse and then lift their skirts up and jump on top of the chimney, screaming bloody murder, and exposing their soiled underwear.

Grant you, the perp here was a big mouse—but so was the cop's screaming.

His "enforcement" timeline was unnecessarily protracted, peppered (not) with futile attempts to subdue/gain compliance, while his constant barkimg of commands was
utterly pointless and inefficacious.

If you are not able to subdue a civilian within a few seconds, to force him to comply, then you should never be a policeman or a soldier.

This situation is somewhat like that, but in reverse.

My point being, that if compliance is not successfully enforced immediately, or within a few seconds, when a potential threat is perceived—then screaming, hollering and issuing useless commands is not gonna make a subject comply—but will instead most likely end in someone's death, which is something that cops are actually bound by oath to avoid.

Now I'm not necessarily defending the backseat guy with the gun, who was acting fidgety and suspicious af (and if indeed he was proven to be a hardened criminal)—I'm only saying that Poposauruses are bound by higher standards, that's all.

If he was carrying a gun illegally, then he should have eventually been charged with a felony or whatever was appropriate, AFTER submission.

But death is not an appropriate punishment for carrying a gun, legally or not, just because you're acting sketchy.

Assuming they didn't have Tasers, or pepper spray (which would be stupid af, btw), then cops should have ordered everyone else out of the car at a safe distance, flat on the ground, then back off, enforce a perimeter and wait for backup, call negotiator, etc.

In other words, *deescalate*, and take the pressure off of that poor guy.

He never got to see his day in court.

The system is supposed to be about due process, not about execution-due-to-police-incompetence—but sadly, just like so many things in America, proper policing is sullied with soiled diapers, faeces and much unseemly pusillanimousness.
