i served 8 years in the Marines and although i applaud this Marine trying to protect people, he was an utter moron when it came to this chokehold. If done right it takes no more than 10 seconds to choke someone out. Any longer than that, then your getting closer to brain damage from lack of oxygen which happens in a minute then you start risking death. To me instead of prosecuting this Marine, how about they prosecute the fucking democrats who allow the mentally ill to run amok while housing ILLEGAL ALIENS in fucking 4 star hotels?? Anyone with any training whatsover understands the point of successful submission. You feel the person go limp. If there is a concern the person will resume being a threat when they come to, put them in an arm bar until the police arrive. The Marine could have been just as much of a hero by subduing the guy without killing him. I don't have a reply for those who have chimed in to say they don't care the person died because they were homeless, mentally ill, "what they could have done", whatever. If you feel those types of people deserve to die, you're as welcome to your opinion as I am. |
