Re: NY Couple Dies in Fiery Airborne Car Crash at Niagara Falls Rainbow Bridge
"my God are they alright? .." Yeah they're totally fine. Luckily it was only a 120 mph crash and explosion, so I think they were probably a bit shaken up but I doubt they'd be seriously hurt. |

Why do you think you are entitled to assume that the high speed was a deliberate choice of the driver?

Re: NY Couple Dies in Fiery Airborne Car Crash at Niagara Falls Rainbow Bridge
I think we are some way from knowing what happened, if we ever will. Media were jumping to conclusions. Its a type of confirmation bias, when you see something you interpret it to be what you expect it to be. Often it is, sometimes it's not. Hell, even the USAF had an airborne command post circling over Niagra Falls. (No criticism, authorities have to assume the worst). |

Re: NY Couple Dies in Fiery Airborne Car Crash at Niagara Falls Rainbow Bridge
No need to throw a tantrum, its a perfectly reasonable question. There are reports (which I do not consider to be proven fact) that the driver previously commented that he had accelerator problems, and analysis from a (claimed) road crash expert saying he thought the driver was braking. If you react this way when someone replies to your forum message, perhaps you should just PM yourself instead? |

Re: NY Couple Dies in Fiery Airborne Car Crash at Niagara Falls Rainbow Bridge
Drivers should be taught how to stop their car in the event of a malfunction or dangerous situation. Like when a coke can rolls under the brake pedal, or when the acceleration is stuck on. It's not taught to learners because it will wreck the vehicle but it's handy to know different ways to stop, like dropping the gears, throwing it into reverse, using the handbrake to brake straight or a controlled handbrake drift, turning the ignition off learning to kick obstacles away from under the brake and so on. It's always good to have that plan B and plan C in your head so that it comes automatically when you are shitting your pants and heading towards a parked HGV.

Re: NY Couple Dies in Fiery Airborne Car Crash at Niagara Falls Rainbow Bridge
Go fuck yourself you ignorant fuck. This is how you stated your initial post/question to me: which is why I would have this kind of reaction to your post. The word “entitled” used apparently without knowing the meaning of the word. Had you posed your question/quote like this: That would be a no issue post but your choice to use the omitted words: “Why do you think you are entitled to assume” is derogatory and unnecessary when quoting other members. If you want to react to other comments from other members you should try to understand how to use the English language a bit more tactically as to not offend other members. I am “entitled” to any perspective of belief about anything I choose. You may not agree with my belief and that’s your choice. However, to use the words Is wrong and offensive . Is that clear enough for you or do I need to spell it out in a different manner!?! I don’t know you or have any problem with you here on the site. Keep your judgement to yourself and quit trying to antagonize other members with derogatory remarks. I don’t think that’s asking too much. Enjoy your day. |
