The person was driving at unsafe speeds and beyond the posted speed limit. The car looked like it was a rocket ship. I understand that collisions can alter a vehicle’s trajectory but traveling at that kind of speed is fucking stupid. On a race track one thing, on a public highway something completely different.

I agree. When it first happened our USA media was selling it as terrorism, slow media day perhaps, nothing to flog on the perennial Arab/Israeli wars. I saw the pics and thought, "I don't see a bomb explosion". The reporters were saying the car must have been filled with explosives.  |

The guy owned a bunch of successful hardware stores, and had a car collection. I assume he drove his wife in the Bentley on a kind of "Date Night". I assume he also topped off the gas tank so he wouldn't have to stop at a late time of night to get gas before going home. I also assume he had a heart attack, and the muscle spasms put his foot down hard on the accelerator pedal. I could be wrong about all that, but we'll see. I'm willing to bet money that I am correct on all those points, though. The news here reported there was nothing left but the engine block of the car, and some melted fragments. I'm sure there are some body parts scattered around there somewhere, but I'd want to see pics of those. See, fans of Kiss are already dying off. Who'd a thunk it?  |
