It took me awhile but I see what happened here. 1. The man shouldn't have been crossing while there was traffic. 2. The glare from the sun prevented him from seeing the pedestrian. 3. On top of #2, it appears the driver's contacts came out of his eyes because I can see him searching desperately for them at the end, to no avail.  |

I don't think there is any issue with the man crossing while there is traffic. Thats what traffic crossings are for, he has the right to cross then, and if you have to wait for no cars you simply can never cross the street. It is the job of drivers to not kill people legally crossing the street and it is 100% the driver's fault.

While geezer ‘should’ pay better attention, and it’s likely “don’t walk” was at least flashing, from the traffic pattern…. Pedestrians always have the right of way, especially in a properly marked intersection. Popping the top was just a bonus!  |
