The beheadings are the result of pure savagery. There is no need for there to be violence tied to a business that sells drugs. There are millions of people all across North America and Europe that sell drugs and earn a fair living with no violence or threat of violence at all ever. The marijuana in my community is almost entirely locally produced and circulated. Not sure where violence would need to fit in to horticulture, sales of goods, or smoking marijuana recreationally.
People use the violence in mexico to demonize drugs and marijuana when in reality, the argument doesn't hold up at all. The situation in mexico is complex, and is caused by many things combined. Poverty, lack of education, lack of resources, lack of government, and many other things.
