He was asking for paramedics. Why didnt the cop just shutup and call for reinforcements. If they waited for the ambulance, he might have cooperated. I mean, you couldn't tale him out by shooting his ankle or something? It might hurt like a bitching cause some destruction but it sure as hell is better than being dead. Fuck this cop, man.  |

This is a perfect example of what they mean by "defund the police". Divert some funds to pay for on-call psych professionals to de-escalate situations like this in a non-deadly way. This was unnecessary. I think this cop just wanted to shoot his gun. How is an unarmed, obviously mentally distressed naked man a threat to this cop? When all you have is a hammer, i guess everything looks like a nail

A different method of de-escalation of force..  Yes, he had been there 2 other occasions that day..  Furthermore, he should have had back up, doesnt appear so because that body cam would have been available too from the other officer that wasn't there..No weapon would be my issue with this.. YES, he was bigger than that little Asian cop, but could probably subdued him with another method other than lethal IMHO with backup Mental health issues are fucked up.. Too bad and so sad |
