Re: Muskogee Police Officer Fatally Shoots Armed Man
It's not about "white cops always shooting the black brother", it's about how sadly some African-Americans are still caught up in a cycle of crime, have low self esteem, face joblessness, poverty, etc. - feel that their lives are less important in relation to humanity as a whole. It's not a bad thing to say black lives matter, or recognize the depressing incarceration rates. It's a reality. The police have a hard job. They are not social service workers. They confront situations in desperately poor high crime neighborhoods all the time that are high stress to say the least - it takes a toll (look at how the officer broke down toward the end of the video). It's complicated and there's no right or perfect answer. I try not to attack either side. But try to recognize that there's more that we can do to prevent such tragedies.

That is a fine example of why all officers need a lapel cam to capture evidence... Its very clear what happened and the shooting is justified.. No fucks given for the dumb bastard that got shot |

Re: Muskogee Police Officer Fatally Shoots Armed Man
Well this definitely doesn't qualify as police brutality. If it did, I would point that out too. But this is a justifiable shooting most definitely. The guy had a gun, dropped it, and then went to pick it back up after fleeing. The cop certainly could argue he was in fear of being shot at. It's important to distinguish the difference between all situations. If police are shooting people that don't deserve to be shot, we ALL need to point that out and expose them for the murderers that they are. Remember, the police work FOR the public. They are paid BY the public, to serve and protect US. If a criminal happens to be wearing a police uniform and badge, that is absolutely no reason to just automatically support whatever decision he made. All police should have cameras on their uniforms so that we can see if they are lying to us or not. They are no more trustworthy than ANY other person. The cameras are for everyone's protection, including the officer. It will prevent police from, brutalizing victims and getting away with it, and it will also prevent police from being falsely accused of brutalizing victims and being wrongly charged. It's a win win. |

There were a lot more Ghetto Trash left alive than just the one Trayvon Martin that committed Suicide By Cop. But, one is better than nothing. |
