Re: Motorcyclist Killed After Crashing Into Road Barrier Chain
Stupid for trying to pass thru the barriers, but DAMN! a chain across a road chest high without any way of actually seeing it? It doesn't show up on the video until after he has already run thru it. |

This is a chain massacre. Had it been in southern USA and he had seen it, it would have been a Texas Chain-saw Massacre. |

Re: Motorcyclist Killed After Crashing Into Road Barrier Chain
Maybe he'd been contemplating suicide but hadn't quite hit on a method (he was halfway there simply by owning a donorcycle), and suddenly there it was, no effort or planning required. Also, many pepole in 3rd-world countries who have super-shitty eyesight, also lack the mean$ to correct it: a savage case of near-sightedness could've been contributory here.

"You Shall Not Pass!" Wonder if he was a chain-smoker? I'm sure the investigators will follow the chain of evidence, link by link. |

guess they ran out of expandable mobile barricades. no wonder the camera was aimed at this spot.

Re: Motorcyclist Killed After Crashing Into Road Barrier Chain
If that happened in the country that I'm in, I can guarantee you that the motorcyclist would be seen as the "victim", and the person who put the chain there would be the one punished. Having said that, I used to have an "open" motorbike license, and would sometimes break the rules too, but I would have NEVER been so stupid as to go through those barriers without a very, very high degree of caution (not just for chains but also for change in surface etc. I would have done it at walking pace. Does that make me better than the idiot in the video? NO - IT DOESN'T! Shame on ME! Truth be told. I no longer hold an open MB license because I've been to too many funerals, and knew from knowing thyself, that I was "next". It's not "wrong" to ride a motorbike, but please, take all the care you can. <- I mean that! (EDIT - Just to fill in the blanks, in my country an "open" motorcycle license means you can legally ride any type of legal bike of any engine capacity or horse power. I had a 1250) |

"His helmet was also dislodged in the impact." "Ma'am, I'm afraid we have some bad news for you. Your son died in a tragic motorcycle accident, but it gets worse. His helmet was also dislodged in the impact. I'm very sorry, ma'am." |
