The fatal accident occurred on Monday 19th, in Timon, Maranhão.

According to witnesses, the motorcycle taxi driver was riding on the bike path on Avenida Piauí, heading towards Ponte da Amizade to Ponte Metálica, when he collided with the curb before a truck hit him and dragged him for many meters under it's wheels. The collision with the mototaxi was so intense that his body was 15 meters from the accident site his organs were exposed along body parts strewn along the road. The victims body was literally left torn in half.

The 11th military police battalion of Timon, the accident occurred around 2:40 pm. The victim's kidneys, liver and heart were scattered on the asphalt. A Samu team was on site and helped the female passenger. The victim, later only identified with the initials ''J.R'' had his body and remains taken away for autopsy.

The victim worked at a motorcycle taxi stand at Shopping da Cidade, downtown Teresina. At the time of the accident, he was with a passenger who suffered fractured arms and is in serious condition in the hospital, her name not released.

The truck driver fled without providing help, but was arrested shortly afterwards and taken to the Civil Police Flagrantes Centre in Timon.
