I feel he got over to the left because he didn't want to get too close to the mopeds that were poking into his lane at the intersection there. That sucks, but the guy driving the mopped that got killed drove too far over to the left, got in front of the bus, got knocked over by it and luckily he didn't get his lover killed too.
