Re: Mother and 8 Year Old Boy on Crosswalk Dragged by Dump Truck
I work for a transport company, I know what can and can't be seen. That moron wasn't paying attention that's why the pedestrians were hit. It's pretty laughable that you're trying to apportion blame, they are approaching a zebra crossing, the driver could see them yet you still blame the mother. |

This one was both the fault of the driver and the woman.

the mother must have a blind spot too,she looked left before crossing but either failed to see the truck moving or just thought he had seen her and would stop for her

Re: Mother and 8 Year Old Boy on Crosswalk Dragged by Dump Truck
The fault lies with BOTH parties. Truck driver is shit at operating that vehicle whiest paying damn attention (sorry im irritated by watching this shit). And The pedestrians (although they have the right of way) should do a "doublecheck" before blindly walking across. People do that here in my home town all the time. Look left, look right, assume nothings behind them and start walking blindly across a busy road. I feel bad for the child mainly, poor guy was lead to his death or serious injury by an incompetent moron parent or guardian. Damnit people! Keep 100% 360 cognitive control when crossing streets. And take your damn earphones off for the love of hayzeus! |

Re: Mother and 8 Year Old Boy on Crosswalk Dragged by Dump Truck
Thank you! Some people here seem to think the woman did something wrong (?), she looked before she crossed and was well into the intersection when hit. He should have seen them when they were standing on the curb, waiting to cross, as he was stopped at the time. The onus is on the driver to ensure the road is clear before proceeding. The End.

Re: Mother and 8 Year Old Boy on Crosswalk Dragged by Dump Truck
Guys, it's Russia, traffic is fucked up here. The guy was watching the other way for incoming cars to slip in the hole in incoming cars and probably didn't pay any attention on pedestrians. Car drivers here are rather careless and it's mostly job of pedestrians not to get hit, because cars rarely let each other pass in front of them. pedestrians and cyclists are not even taken into account as traffic participants. Drivers try as hard as possible not to stop or drop speed at zebras, unless it's a huge crowd or big lights-regulated junction. They often bypass single pedestrians at full speed. |
