Re: Montgomery County Deputy Shoot & Kills Guy Hitting Him with Piece of Wood
Because a shot the the knee cap legs wont work and he falls to the ground. The guy was moving slowly and he was basically point blank. Could have easily also kicked his legs from under him also. Cop is over weight and should be behind a desk. I support officers, always have but this cop is worthless. So even though yes the guy deserved to be shot i also believe in preserving life if possible. It was very easily possible in that situation.

That is a disgraceful accusation. Of course, blame me and not the real estate agents! I love minorities but cash is cash |

Re: Montgomery County Deputy Shoot & Kills Guy Hitting Him with Piece of Wood
Yep. The muzzle velocity of nearly all handguns (<2000 fps) isn't enough to overcome the body's natural elasticity. Shot placement is far more important in stopping the threat. You either have to luck out and get a CNS (central nervous system) hit, cause enough of the ambient blood pressure to drop so that the body can't continue to function, or hope for them to choose to stop (a psychological stop). Remember that infamous FBI Miami debacle where the guy was shot 12 times yet stayed in the fight for minutes-sober. Hollywood has indeed done a wonder to derail the reality of real gunfights. Sadly, real world ballistics info has been around for decades yet is still basically forgotten. |
