Chinese driver Z. is being criminal charged by the Huangyan Branch of the Public Security Bureau of Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province after he did not pay attention to observing the traffic situation ahead while driving in a tunnel.

He collided with a car that was parked on a high-speed road after an accident inside a tunnel. As a result, a female driver who was standing behind the car was hit and killed and her 12 year old daughter fell and got bruised on her arm.

The accident happened on the evening of July 17, when a black car with a Shanghai license plate scratched a white SUV with a Taizhou license plate when changing lanes in the Qianshan tunnel on the S9 Su-Tai Expressway towards Suzhou.

This first accident was very minor, and both vehicles could continue to drive, but neither vehicle was evacuated, and instead they chose to stop and check. The black car was parked in the first lane, and the white SUV was parked in the third fast lane.

The night of the incident was busy with traffic flow, and the roar of cars and trucks inside the tunnel did not make the two drivers feel any sense of danger.

After turning on the "hazard lights", F.M, the driver of the black car, got out of the car with her 12-year-old daughter. After checking the damage of the car, she went around to find the triangular warning reflector in the trunk.

After nearly 3 minutes she found the triangular reflector but another white car drove quickly and collided with her and the 12-year-old daughter. F. was fatally hit by the car, and her 12-year-old daughter fell to the side and bruised her arm.

The painful lesson once again warned us that staying on the road after an accident, checking car damage or negotiating liability compensation will put ourselves in a very dangerous situation.
