That's why it would have to start with the people. The cartels and their thugs are at the very least outnumbered 1000 to 1.

In another post someone mentioned the wall, and allowing the citizenry to be armed. 2 of the best ways to fight the cartels.

How powerful would the cartels be when they can't get anything through that border?

I posted about this the other day. Why Mexico doesn't put their military special forces on taking out the cartels is beyond me.

If this was taking place in America, pretty sure that's what would be happening. You can't trust the cops, and you need overwhelming force. And you have to hit these fuckers fast, in probably 50 or more locations within hours of eachother. And why fill your prisons even more with these kinds of animals.

They need to just be put down. They should bring Israel special forces over to show them how to take all these guys out. Fucking airstrikes, car bombs, ambushes, raids. Bulldoze their houses, burn their fields and warehouses, confiscate their money, vehicles, planes, boats. Put their pictures up on every telephone poll, Facebook page and tv station, offering up millions for them. Dead or alive.

It seems to me it's a fucking war, so why not go to war.

Make these cops and politicians and judges who protect the cartel, more afraid of the movement that's taking back the country, than the cartels.

I've had conversations with people about this stuff, and what it would take. And what would happen in America. I think if this was happening here, people would be marching in the streets of DC. And I believe that's what Mexicans have to do. March on their capital, and demand their government do something about it.

I believe Mexico is on pace to have close to 30,000+ murders this year. Which is a fuck load. For a nation that about 5 times smaller than America. and alot less than half the population of America.

Mexico has already had more murders this year than America had all of last year. People think America has a gun problem, a murder problem. Well times that by almost 3 and that's where Mexico is at.

Lots of good sentiments but there is one problem: most of the citizens are dirt poor, therefore more often than not, it's their only chance for money is to serve the cartels, not to metnion in remote areas there is literally NOTHING you can do, there is no "sustainable" work there, so you just have to obey these assholes

Ya it wouldn't be easy. I think they would have to obviously close the border first.

If they can't trust enough people, which seems to be a big problem. Possibly they could do like we did in Iraq. Create green zones of heavily guarded and patrolled areas with check points. And just build from there pushing the green zones further and further.

I don't really think they will ever do anything to knock the cartels out. But look at Columbia, that country was far worse than Mexico 20 years ago. They still have work to do, but they have cartels on their heels.

makes me think of the movie sicario. yes its a movie, i realize that. but the sub-story about poor family with the kid who just wants to play soccer with his dad, who is a cop that is unfortunately employed by the cartel (i dont think it ever reveals if it was by choice or he was just trying to make more money to get by). dad gets killed, kid is left to wake up one day and find his dads bed empty. fucked up world we live in thats for sure
