Re: Mexico - Church Roof Collapses Killing 10+
God never promised to keep shitty buildings standing. God said, "Get wisdom, and with all your studying, get understanding" (Proverbs 4:7). God also said, "The wise see danger ahead and avoid it, but fools keep going and get into trouble" (Proverbs 27:12). The Bible commands us to be obedient to the civil authorities in all lawful things (Romans 13). Even countries like México have sound building codes and that falls squarely under Romans 13. The trouble is people ignore them. Cut corners, build without proper structural engineering or permits, and you will pay the price whether you put up a grocery store or a church. That's biblical. A collapsing church is God keeping His word. |

Re: Mexico - Church Roof Collapses Killing 10+
I have no problem with churches collapsing because of poor engineering/workmanship, etc. But I do have a problem with an asshole, negligent, lazy, criminal, indifferent and incompetent God (he is imaginary, btw)—who knows about the impending collapse and yet chooses to sit on his ASS and does nothing to warn the people inside, so they can get out in time. The Bible is not an authority on anything of import—least of all matters of morality. Your god is no different that those malevolent Black youths who were laughing at the drowning Black guy, without lifting a finger to help, as we witnessed in that video we saw here some time ago. Funny how your god does pleanty of magic (allegedly) in the Bible, yet does not "use it" when it could make a difference and save actual lives. (If there were such a thing as magic—which there isn't.) The only magic to speak of here, as always—is magical thinking. |
