Quick thinking by her kid (wearing the red) - about a second before the impact you can see him dropping down all of a sudden, quite possibly even trying to pull his mom down as well, but it looks like she just shrugs it off with her free arm / hand.

The kid must have actually seen that his mother's head was way too close to the train (hence why he even instinctually dodged just in time), but simply could not do anything to get her out of the way in time.

Poor kid - at least he survived (because judging from the video, his head was in the path of the train too before he squatted down suddenly), but that's gotta be traumatizing.

I was actually hit by a train in Victorville, CA. Was to close to the tracks and the force and weight of it sucked me in. It fractured the entire left side of my face, I now have metal plates in the side of my head, the top of my eye, and above my top lip. It also spun me around on impact and I was hit a second time, and it fractured my elbow and right hand. My entire right hand is plates and screws. I'm like iron man lol robotic, but lucky to be here.
