More than 90% of her muscle tissue was compromised looking at the state she's in in the video, her system was getting full of toxins too, not to mention the inflamation process all over her body that if people don't get cut all over (escharotomy) the over pressure will kill them.

From what I understand, the body tries to "help" itself by swelling (like it does when you burn yourself), but with that much burn area the massive movement of fluid completely fucks with everything.

Plus, the development of scarring can limit mobility and literally suffocate you as the skin loses its elasticity. I remember reading about incisions that doctors have to do on the rib cage of burn victims so that they can still breathe once their skin stops being able to stretch.

Makes sense. Breathing affected from skin, fluids lost, and I’m sure extreme shock / body panic has involvement.

It looks like full thickness burns, so I hope the pain was as minimal at the very least for her. Full thickness/3rd degree burns = your nerve endings are gone.
