A large percent of these gang members are forcibly recruited. The classic "with us or against us" and they risk not only their own lives but their family as well if they don't cooperate. And his not having information to share was likely not having knowledge rather than being uncooperative. These low level guys have work doled out to them without explanation and they don't dare ask questions. They are a dime a dozen to the cartel leaders. And the willingness to carry out these horribly brutal executions are a test to determine loyalty and move up the ranks, not so much to throw a scare into a rival. These guys know if they get snagged by a rival, better swallow a bunch of fentanyl asap because this is what's waiting for you.
