You get a call about a person with a mental illness and possible history of violence, that is menacing his mother.
Automatically you know this is a bad situation.

When you arrive, the suspect comes outside holding a knife.

Now, why would he not leave the knife inside? Knowing the police were coming why keep holding the knife at all?

The actions of a sane, rational person?

His mother didn`t seem too concerned when she answered the door. In fact she was rather calm. And no one but who was there knows what really happened because the camera went off range. What kind of a dumbass cop screams at a person who is mentally unstable ? I know alot of people don`t agree with me and that`s fine. I guess the DA will evaluate this because the family filed a lawsuit.
I`m reminded of an incident here that happened a couple years ago. A 10 year old girl shoplifted from a convenience store that was by her school. She was caught and the cops were called. Sure enough, the cops pulled up behind the store and WITH THEIR GUNS DRAWN were sneaking around the corner of the store. I live in a small town. Someone videotaped the whole incident. The cops were actually peeking around the corner of the store into the plate glass windows with their guns out......for a 10 year old shoplifting !!!!!!!!!...how RIDICULOUS, and believe me, most of the residents here were appalled and the cops caught alot of slack for it. But like I said, the camera was out of range and we really don`t know what transpired.

I know psych pts are more dangerous than others.I have worked with them for over 30 yrs.. Never trust a crazy off their med. Paranoid schiz's are the most dangerous.. We have had many staff beaten up badly/.And just think when at court for your murder they will probably get aquit and commit..To a state psych hospital where they will have 3 hots and a cot,A/C ,respect and must be treated with dignity at all times. Dances and karaoke and van rides to mc donalds etc etc.. then get out in maybe 10 years .maybe longer maybe sooner...But too frequently the hospitle discharges them before they are ready and they kill or rape again... we must use the minimum of force necessary to restrain them even if that means we will get hurt.O my the poor poor pt. he is mentally ill..Fuck yeah then why do they have a right to refuse all meds to get them better.We can only administer med aganst their will if we get a court order and they must be a danger to themselves or others.... Many people fake being ill to go to a state hospital as it is much cushir than jail.. your tax dollars wre paying for their stay there at sometimes over $ 500 a day. kill em all
