Dutch authorities have not released any information that would confirm what you said, and I’d be inclined to believe you if the victims appeared to be upstanding citizens, but in fact they looked less than upstanding. The language they used and the football (soccer) hooligan type gestures of hands aloft, suggest to me these boys are themselves cocaine users. Cocaïne is rampant here in the Netherlands. Especially so on the football scene.
My theory is that they scored from the shooter and didn’t want to pay, which is why they were keen for him to ‘opkankeren & oprotten’ (to fuck off, literally translated as cancer off and rot off) . Because if he had just ripped them off or tried selling to their kids, they wouldn’t want him to be going anywhere soon. They’d be trying to lure him back so they could kick the fuck out of him.

Not necessarily. He could have just continued running, gotten away, called the police. One of the things that courts take into account is whether the particular use of force, such as a gun or knife, was justified. I don't think it's justified in this case because the dude was already on his way out of there, but then he stopped and decided to pull out his gun.

That right there shows signs of premeditation. It no longer qualifies as self-defense. It's the same thing that happened with Michael Drejka, who got into a scuffle with a black woman who was wrongly parked in a handicapped spot. When he confronted her about it, her husband came out of the store where he'd been shopping and instantly pushed Mike to the ground, who promptly pulled out his gun and shot him dead. Drejka could have just let it be, walked away, he didn't HAVE to pull out his gun.

The suspect is known as dealer, but also as a defender of the ho's when they are getting bullied.
So it's never a smart idea to have a bachelors party in the ho quarter, getting drunk, harrassing the lady workers.
Moreover it gets bad not believing the call of a local dealer to stop the bullshit.
You can see the man who gets shot has a stick in his hand 5 meters of the suspect.
