Re: Maryland Police Shoot and Kill Man Who Almost Bites Officer’s Finger Off.
Ha, Ha! You silly Europeans! A quick bullet to the head, and you don't have to worry about crowding a jail with another useless POS. Money spent on these assholes is money that could be used for childhood education, supporting women's shelters, providing food for the homeless, and on and on. Good riddance to him. Hope the cop recovers. |

Well, unless they are a cute stripper, trying to get a spanking for being really naughty. Then I would have to just spank them, until they at least giggle, and they promise not to be so naughty in the future. For at least 5 minutes. |

Or the police could have gotten a parrot with a rock to attack him. I've heard that works, too!

Re: Maryland Police Shoot and Kill Man Who Almost Bites Officer’s Finger Off.
Personally, I don't feel like deadly force was necessary here, as I don't believe the bite was or could've been life threatening to someone who has access to American health care. But if this falls under the "great bodily harm" stipulation, then they were acting within the boundaries of the law. And not to say he deserved to be killed for it but... he allegedly took his own mother hostage, assaulted her, and then instead of complying he chose to attack the cops... ...he was kind of asking for it. |

He got what he deserved.... you attack a cop.....you get your ass shot.....end of story... don't pass go...and ya damn sure don't collect $200. Anyone who attacks a cop like that should be put down just like a rabid dog would when he bites someone. |

Re: Maryland Police Shoot and Kill Man Who Almost Bites Officer’s Finger Off.
NO. You will see why; here is the general P.C. (a) Deadly force means that force which a reasonable person would consider likely to cause death or serious bodily harm. Its use may be justified only under conditions of extreme necessity, when all lesser means have failed or cannot reasonably be employed. A protective force officer is authorized to use deadly force only when one or more of the following circumstances exists: (1) Self-Defense. When deadly force reasonably appears to be necessary to protect a protective force officer who reasonably believes himself or herself to be in imminent danger of death or serious bodily harm. (2) Serious offenses against persons. When deadly force reasonably appears to be necessary to prevent the commission of a serious offense against a person(s) in circumstances presenting an imminent danger of death or serious bodily harm (e.g. sabotage of an occupied facility by explosives). (3) Nuclear weapons or nuclear explosive devices. When deadly force reasonably appears to be necessary to prevent the theft, sabotage, or unauthorized control of a nuclear weapon or nuclear explosive device. (4) Special nuclear material. When deadly force reasonably appears to be necessary to prevent the theft, sabotage, or unauthorized control of special nuclear material from an area of a fixed site or from a shipment where Category II or greater quantities are known or reasonably believed to be present. (5) Apprehension. When deadly force reasonably appears to be necessary to apprehend or prevent the escape of a person reasonably believed to: (i) have committed an offense of the nature specified in paragraphs (a)(1) through (a)(4) 1 of this section; or (ii) be escaping by use of a weapon or explosive or who otherwise indicates that he or she poses a significant threat of death or serious bodily harm to the protective force officer or others unless apprehended without delay. 1 These offenses are considered by the Department of Energy to pose a significant threat of death or serious bodily harm. (b) Additional Considerations Involving Firearms. If it becomes necessary to use a firearm, the following precautions shall be observed: (1) A warning, e.g. an order to halt, shall be given, if feasible, before a shot is fired. (2) Warning shots shall not be fired. So if someone is causing serious bodily harm, im sure damn near severing someones finger from their hand constitutes serious bodily harm, the officer is justified using deadly force. |

Re: Maryland Police Shoot and Kill Man Who Almost Bites Officer’s Finger Off.
Disfiguring and/or maiming attacks on LEO’s will most usually result in the attacker being shot, and often, killed by the Officer(s). Dont like it? Dont try to bite off an Officer’s digit! Dont try to disfigure and/maim an Officer. |
