Re: Man Who Jumped Off Bridge Tries, in Vain, to Rescue Himself
He probably shattered most of his lower body when he hit, although it doesn't appear to be that high of a bridge. Maybe he bled out from a hemothorax when his ribs punctured his lungs. It's just a shame he wasn't rendered unconscious by the fall.

Re: Man Who Jumped Off Bridge Tries, in Vain, to Rescue Himself
Surrounded by water - never learned how to swim. Not for lack of trying. I did learn how to drown proof myself, and tread water. Not that either one of those skills would keep a jumper alive.

Re: Man Who Jumped Off Bridge Tries, in Vain, to Rescue Himself
By no means am I an expert, but I can swim to save my life. Never been in a situation where I start sinking when swimming. Just float when I get tired, keep my lungs full of air, go on my back and kick my feet a little bit. Had to swim a mile in high school, graduated in 18, that’s how I did my mile. Took longer than everyone else, but it was easy and relaxing unlike their swim.

Generally, we ask that members refrain from commenting on any thread that hasn't been commented on for a year or more. It bumps them to the top of the first page pushes all the newest threads down the page burying them. Of course, if you have more info/or media related to a particular case, that's always welcome, no matter how old the thread is. Thank you.

Re: Man Who Jumped Off Bridge Tries, in Vain, to Rescue Himself
Overwhelming discomfort of suffocation lead to last min change of mind. The key to successful suicide lies in the speed of execution. Lesson: Don't chose slow painful methods like self immolation, drowning, hanging etc.
