A 36-year-old Bolivian citizen, Richard F.M., was driving drunk when he crashed into a street sign and crates belonging to a greengrocers.

Furious citizens confronted Richard, telling him to go back to his own country, before one of them punched Richard in the head, causing fatal injuries.

The Bolivian Embassy has expressed its “deep consternation” over the incident, saying it happened under “xenophobic circumstances”. Argentinian authorities have not released any information on the attacker.

EDIT Some sources are now reporting that Richard survived the punch, and later hanged himself at his residence.
