A video circulating on social media shows the moment a man was killed inside a shoe store in southern Quito. A child was a witness to the crime.

The footage shows four people inside the establishment, including the minor. The victim was trying on shoes while the child walked down one of the store’s aisles.

Suddenly, a helmeted individual enters the store and shoots the man at point-blank range. The attacker fires several shots at close range, which are directly witnessed by the minor. After the crime, the attacker flees the scene on foot.

The woman and man, who, according to preliminary reports, are the store owners, search for the child, visibly shaken. The woman picks the child up in her arms, and both leave the premises. Seconds later, other people enter and see the man lying on the floor.
