A 27-year-old woman, Yasmin F.C., was stabbed to death by her ex, 35-year-old José C.F.d.S., in the studio apartment where she lived. After killing her, José recorded a farewell video with her body, where he stated he loved Yasmin and could not live without her. Afterwards, he committed suicide.

Yasmin had locked herself in her room when José arrived, and pressed a panic button for domestic abuse victims. The police arrived at the apartment building, but they didn't know exactly where Yasmin lived. By the time they burst down her door, Yasmin was dead and José had hanged himself.

José had a criminal record for bodily harm, threats, and drink-driving, and Yasmin had a restraining order taken out against him.
