I felt so bad that the children had to witness that, one just barely making it past the killer. I am glad towards the end an adult led the two kids away, but that will be with them for the rest of their lives.

the guy who was standing outside the gate right in front of him doesn't take off running and doesn't appear to have a gun or anything in his hands right after it happens...where the fuck did the shot come from??

for some reason, I think one of the kids accidently shot him. the brain matter flew to the left, and the guy he opened the gate for looked as surprised as the kids. there might have been a gun at the gate house to the right unattended. just a theory. good post non the less!

I did watch it. Yes he eventually takes off...after the shot he spins around and stands there for a second looking surprised and doesn't appear to have a gun in his hands. Did you see a gun?  |

At the 10 second mark there is something black raised by a kid to the right. He is the last to run, probably putting down the rifle.
